RUNS IN FAMILY

My youngest grandchild, Shalene (Shay) Thomas's first passion has always been sports but her second passion has always been poetry.

Even though while in High School she had become the head writer of school issues for the school newspaper, she hasn't felt drawn to journalism

I don't even pretend to understand all the modern poetry but I especially love her poem "Thankyou" because she said she wrote it for me.

I have to add here that Shay decided it was time to show herself so she has removed her nephews picture & put up pictures of herself on her home page. That's nice.

A LITTLE HUMOR

Through the years family & friends kept insisting that I needed a computer in my home & I kept insisting I didn't.

Due to another family member with a medical problem that I needed  help tending to, my granddaughter who resides in CA came to stay with me in FL to help out.

Being of the new generation, she arrived with her computer!

During the three months that Shay stayed with me, all her spare time was spent on her computer and she also had the opportunity to show me how to operate it and the advantage of how easy it was to do research on it.

Needless to say, when the time came for Shay to return to CA., I was hooked and told her instead of packing up the computer, she might just as well leave it with me and I would purchase her a new one when she got home.

Shay gave me a few more quick lessons, which I wrote everything down to be sure I wouldn't forget. Simple things, like how to Email family and friends, etc., then she deserted me!

I must say, being left alone with this darn old computer, that's exactly how I felt, deserted!  LOL

Now that's what brings me to the subject of this little tale, LOL.

It didn't take me long to get the screen names of some friends and family living in other states and to begin communicating with them. Every time LOL would appear within their messages, I thought, "lots of love", isn't that nice.

This went on for sometime, until my granddaughter sent me the list of what I refer to as computer short-hand and I found out that LOL meant "laughing out loud".

I was slightly disappointed, everyone wasn't sending me "lots of love" after all.  LOL

I have been trying off & on to edit my web page & wasn't having any luck. Today I finally figured out how to do it so I began by appologizing to all my fans, family, friends & all visitors who checked in here to see what I was up to and how I'm doing. once I had finished that & updated my activities, I posted it and whiped out everything I had posted in the past on the right side of my webpage. Fortunately for me, everything on the left side stayed so I don't have to redo that. I will continue first with my update & then I'll try to get some of the information I wiped out back on, especially about my book.

Speaking of my book, THE DEADLY SEASON, I finally went to my first book signing a few months back. It was a good experience & the fact that there were sixty other authors there & I sold six books, other authors who have had many book signings have said I did great. I'll take their word for it, I know I felt great!

What I have been so tied up with these past months was setting up & getting my EBay site working. Boy, that can sure keep one busy. We've done real well with it and the only reason I have free time now is because we're letting our listings run out because we're going away. We will not be posting anything on EBay again now until the end of January. I have submitted four requested stories to four seperate anthologies, will tell more about that once they're published.

Have also found some time to work on two of my books in progress & with renewed determination, I will complete them before another year passes. Now I shall try to put back up some of the stuff I wiped out today. Bear with me, if I don't accomplish it tonight, I will soon.
